Temple Sheen Villas |
The two pairs of semi-detached villas known as Temple Sheen Villas were built in 1861. They became a conspicuous landmark in East Sheen. Numbers 1 & 2 were demolished in 1936 and numbers 3 & 4 in 1972. The stable block, much refurbished, still stands as 69 Temple Sheen Road. The villas are shown here in Lewis Turner's drawing of 1904 – the wall and gate posts can be seen today on the corner of Temple Sheen and Temple Sheen Road just as there are in the drawing.
